In the meantime picked up #Shure #SM58 (the classic one) and honestly I could keep it as my main mic.

It requires higher gain, so the noise floor is high but still very good results for the money.

#Earthworks #Ethos is almost 4x the money and definitely not that multiple in quality.

If I wanted to go for best value, another classic #BETA87A would be my choice.

SM58 is an amazing artifact obviously and also built like a tank but Ethos looks and feels like piece of art.

Best $70 I ever spent... other than the #SM58 itself I guess. Will put up some compare/contrast clips at some point. #TritonAudio

This is the first microphone I ever bought (I have two that I bought together). It’s (I think?) 22 years old. I recorded my entire first EP with just those two SM58s. Today it’s a talkback mic (weird routing to work around a mix in progress so our normal talkback mic is not in the circuit).

Auf der Suche nach einem guten #Mikrofon für #Shaker #Recording. Erstaunlich wenig dazu gefunden bisher.

Habe es mit #Sennheiser441 versucht und es klingt harsch und undefiniert. Das gleiche beim #SM58 oder Beta.

Die beste Lösung war bisher der #Fieldrecorder von #zoom (h4n) mit seinen Stereo Kondensator Mics.

Vielleicht mal ein #Großmembran oder #Bändchenmikrofon probieren? Leider gerade keins hier. Was benutzt ihr für Shaker?
