I haven't been taking my camera out much this year so I don't even have enough spider photos for each day of October from the past year? Crazy. Anyway, have a cute little jumper!

A very tiny spider is standing on a wood railing. It is a whitish tan with glossy black eyes that are looking up and to the right. It seems very inquisitive and gives a sense of anticipated action. Is it going to jump? I think so.

Peanut Butter (that's what I've decided to call the _Platycryptus undatus_ who lives down the street) nabbed herself a female ant alate! I also saw more female alates in other spiders' webs, and a few that had gotten into the grocery store somehow.

Northeastern North Americans/ant people in general: anyone know which ants' nuptial flight time it is? Those yellow _Lasius_ maybe? The males (in my window orbweaver's web) seem yellow.

A Heavy Jumper (Hyllus diardi) spotted at Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve, Singapore on 23 Aug 2025. A curious fellow, it kept turning to face me.

The mystery eggs have hatched! Look at the little i1 slings. So cute! I wonder which species they are!

A very cute jumping spider (not sure of the exact species), they’re very curious creatures! I recorded this with my iPhone and a cheap macro lens on December 2018.

gotta stay on brand

here's a sidewalk mite (_Balaustium_) feeding on some predatory mite, Rhagidiidae or Cunaxidae or thereabouts; and an _Admestina_ jumping spider I found near pine trees in a nearby park. I find such interesting arthropods around pines that I don't see anywhere else.

A red mite with a somewhat elongated body and a coat of short fine hair, feeding on a much smaller translucent whitish mite which has a noticeably different leg arrangement, body shape, etc. The eyelike bumps on the red mite's head are chemical-secreting organs called urnulae.A small, very flat jumping spider on a white-painted rock. It is beige with dark mottling down the centre of its body and has banded legs, except for its first pair of legs which are thicker and brown.
