Since the 2015 decision to legalize gay marriage in the U.S., the Supreme Court has shifted to the right, and conservative judges now hold a 6-3 majority, heightening concern for the future of marriage equality. japantimes.co.jp/news/2025/06/

Hey Fediverse!
I am still looking for resources (preferably gay/queer or feminist) criticizing marriage in general or same-sex marriage.

Can you help me find this?
Preferably in French, otherwise in English.

I have already read Manifesto against gay normalization, Alain Naze (Manifeste contre la normalisation gay).

thank you !

"Meanwhile, at the SBC annual meeting--amid this loss, the denomination's own refusal to address rampant sexual abuse in its own ranks, and the attacks on our democracy by the man Southern Baptists were instrumental in bringing to power--the leaders at the meeting determined that the most pressing issues God was calling them to address were overturning the legality of marriage equality and banning women from being pastors."

No one has that right.

And God is not behind such ugly actions.

We can frame this discussion as a religious-freedom discussion ONLY if we ignore and care nothing about the hurt being inflicted on others by people claiming God and their — THEIR — belief system as their warrant for hurting others.

With the demand of Southern Baptists that their understanding of marriage be imposed on all the rest of us:

This is not, as many would want to think, a "We all have a right to believe as we choose" discussion.

It's a discussion about who has the right to attack, denigrate, hurt, harm others and claim that God is behind these ugly actions.

Southern Baptists then chose to attack women’s rights and down the road, LGBTQ rights.

When issues arise pointing to a moral arc within history, you can count on Southern Baptists to take the side that points in the opposite direction.

I grew up Southern Baptist and have two first cousins who are Southern Baptist ministers.

I know Southern Baptists.

Southern Baptists split the Baptist church in the US to defend the immoral practice of slavery.

The denomination is called “Southern Baptist” for this reason. It was born out of the commitment to keep slavery alive.

Southern Baptists defended draconian immoral Jim Crow laws and bitterly resisted civil rights laws giving people of color basic rights.

Southern Baptists then chose to attack women’s rights and down the road, LGBTQ rights.

“The denomination has long opposed gay marriage, but Tuesday was the first time its members have voted to work to legally end it. Expanding on conservatives’ success in overturning Roe v. Wade in 2022, the vote signals growing evangelical ambitions to overturn Obergefell v. Hodges, the Supreme Court ruling that was handed down 10 years ago this month.”

“The Southern Baptist Convention voted overwhelmingly on Tuesday to call for the overturning of the Supreme Court ruling that legalized same-sex marriage, with strategists citing the successful effort that overturned the right to legal abortions as a possible blueprint for the new fight.”

At least we won't forget the date thanks to this wonderful cross-stitch from our friend Hayley - featuring Nyota and Nebula ❤️

Photo of me holding out a cross-stitch done by my friend Hayley. It shows me and my husband in cute, almost pixel art style, holding hands wearing the suits we wore at our wedding, right down to the tie colours. Next to us in the cross-stitch are representations of our two cats, one either side of us, again looking very cute. And at the bottom is the date of our wedding, 30 April. In the background you can see one of the cats and it's clear how good a likeness it is!

Can't believe it's been a whole month since our wedding!

Still feels unreal calling him my husband after 13 years together 😅

1) tecnico, per un approfondimento sui singoli quesiti e sulla loro dubbia ammissibilità, anche (e soprattutto) per le contraddittorie conseguenze in punto di filiazione, specialmente con riguardo alle coppie conviventi e alla legge sulla procreazione medicalmente assistita (la quale, anche dopo il referendum, continuerebbe a mantenere il requisito esplicito della ‘diversità di sesso’ della coppia richiedente);

The Finnish Church rejects same-sex unions and parallel definitions of marriage.

A proposal had sought to add parallel definitions of marriage to the Church’s constitution.

However, the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland will not adopt the proposed model that would have recognised both heterosexual and same-sex unions as parallel definitions of marriage.
