#FolkloreSunday: `According to Seán Ó Duinn in his book, In Search of the Awesome Mysteries, at #Samhain, groups of masked men dressed as the ancient Gods, or the Sidhe would rampage through villages demanding food and drink from house-holders. In those days, most homes had a central hearth. If the house-holder was generous, the masked men would line up and proceed around the hearth fire deiseal-wise, keeping the fire on their right, to bring the inhabitants good fortune for the following year. If the house-holder was mean, the men would proceed tuathal-wise instead before leaving. This was certainly an early version of today’s ‘trick or treating’.` #Celtic

Just spotted a magazine 200 Greatest Goth Albums. Read through the listing but wouldn't consider all of the albums to be #Goth (#Mogwai's The Hawk is Howling ?? #Samhain ??? #Ministry???)

had hoped for more than a little square on each record but as that was it besides the big spreads on some bands (which all looked like recycled articles) not sure what the point is beyond the list (see link below)

#FolkloreSunday: `Nera had seen the destruction of the royal hall of Connacht. So he followed the attacking aos sidhe through the cave Oweynagat into the elven mound of Crúachan. After his discovery, he was supposed to be the slave of an elf woman, but became her lover. The Sidhe finally told him that the attack had not yet taken place, but would only be carried out on the coming #Samhain. Nera went back to Crúachan and successfully warned King Ailill and Queen Medb. The fact that he was able to produce summer herbs in winter not only proved the truth of his words, but also that he had travelled back in time. Incidentally, Nera went back to his lover in the sidhe.` #Celtic
