"Der Rufer" (The Caller) in #Bremen.

This #bronze #statue was created by Gerhard Marcks in 1967. Marcks also designed the famous Bremer Stadtmusikanten (Bremen Town Musicians) sculpture in the city centre. Commissioned for Radio Bremen's TV station, it serves as a timeless reminder of what radio and TV are all about.

Old #Hansa glory in #Bremen for #Doorsday 🚢

This #door is part of a gigantic building complex built in 1913, which combines multiple addresses. It is located on the #Schlachte embankment overlooking the river Weser. Today, the building belongs to the Handelskrankenkasse (HKK, a health insurance fund) and is also known under the name 𝘏𝘢𝘶𝘴 𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘏𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘭𝘴𝘬𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘬𝘦𝘯𝘬𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘦.

Previously it was known as the "𝘏𝘢𝘶𝘴 𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘋𝘦𝘶𝘵𝘴𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘋𝘢𝘮𝘱𝘧𝘴𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘧𝘧𝘢𝘩𝘳𝘵𝘴-𝘎𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘴𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘧𝘵 𝘏𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘢" (DDG Hansa was a major German shipping company) and "𝘏𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘦𝘩𝘢𝘶𝘴". The DDG Hansa had it built as their main kontor, incorporating several old houses into one complex. This beautiful #Renaissance #portal was preserved and re-integrated by the company. The building was heavily damaged in WW2, but restored and modernized in the 1950s, when other companies moved in to use the office space. One of them was the #HKK, which later bought the whole building in the 1980s after DDG Hansa went bankrupt and was dissolved.

I assume the years in the inscription refer to the founding year of the HKK's predecessor (1760), the building of the kontor (1913), and the year the ownership of the building was transferred to the HKK (1982).

A richly detailed Renaissance-style stone portal with a dark grey, ornate wrought-iron double door set into a red brick wall. Above the arched doorway, an inscription reads "Handelskrankenkasse 1760–1913–1982". Two fluted columns with intricate capitals frame the arch, featuring grotesque masks and swirling foliage carvings. At the base of each column are sculptural figures. The number '6' is subtly visible to the right of the door.

Fuß- und Radweg unterhalb der Straße entlang eines Flusses. Im Vordergrund ein Mensch auf dem Fahrrad direkt an der Wasserkante auf dem halb überschwemmten Weg. Im Hintergrund beleuchtete Schiffe und Hochhäuser in der Dämmerung.

Fuß- und Radweg unterhalb der Straße entlang eines Flusses aus der anderen Richtung aufgenommen. In der Mitte Arkaden in der Verlängerung des Weges entlang des Wassers. Der Weg ist überspült und das Wasser steht auch unter den Arkaden. Auf dem schmalen Streifen trockenen Weges sind Menschen zu Fuß und auf dem Rad unterwegs. Rechts in der Mitte ein Schiff.

Land unter an der #Schlachte in #Bremen. #Sturmflut 2023 aber nicht ganz so hoch wie 2007, wenn ich mich richtig erinnere.

Der Fluss Weser ist im Stadtbereich Schlachte über die Ufer getreten. Die Zugänge zu dort liegenden Ausflugsschiffen sind nicht mehr zu begehen. Mülltonnen sind etwa zur Hälfte unter Wasser. Die Bewölkung am Himmel ist stürmisch-dramatisch.

Herrlich. Bei dem warmen Sommerregen mit Rad von der #Schlachte zurück nach #Hemelingen. Ist wie duschen, nur ohne Shampoo.

Outside activity and meeting with some friends is still possible. No way we would go to a bar or restaurant indoors at the moment. Never did during fall/ winter since 2020. Still alive and kicking.
