13/ So, all das hat stattgefunden. Organisiert von, gemeinsam mit oder unabhängig von Wissenschaftler*innen, aber man kann nicht sagen, dass die nichts gemacht hätten oder gar im Weg gestanden hätten.

Dazu kamen viele Formen nachdrücklicheren Protests mit #zivilerUngehorsam. Von #ExtinctionRebellion, #ScientistRebellion, #AmBodenBleiben, #LetzteGeneration. Die LG war wohl am aktivsten.

Straßenblockaden, abmontierte Verkehrsschilder, Flughafenblockaden. Gewalt gegen Aktivist*innen von Polizei und Autofahrern.

Es gab einen zweiten #Hungerstreik von #HungernBisIhrEhrlichSeid, bei dem beinahe Menschen gestorben wären. Ich wage zu behaupten, dass Wolfgang Metzeler-Kick gestorben wäre, wenn seine Mitstreiter*innen ihn gelassen hätten.

Die zu diskutierende Frage war, ob man denn weiter (Klima-)Wissenschaftler*innen ausbilden sollte, wenn doch ihr Wissen ohnehin ignoriert würde. Müsste man nicht vielmehr auf die Straßen gehen und dort unterrichten, sich an die Allgemeinheit wenden?

Niko Froitzheim ist seit 2018 (oder früher) auf die Straße gegangen. Mit #ExtinctionRebellion, der #LetzteGeneration, mit #ScientistRebellion. War in #Lützerath.

Inzwischen ist er emeritiert. Er hat gesagt, dass er es als seine Pflicht gesehen hat zu protestieren. Gerade als Beamter, denn er hat einen Eid auf das Grundgesetz geschworen und das verpflichtet ihn, sich für den Schutz des Lebens einzusetzen. Es habe auch nie irgendwelche beamtenrechtlichen Probleme gegeben. Die Aktionen hätten meist außerhalb der Zeiten seiner dienstlichen Verpflichtungen stattgefunden. Aber nicht nur.

On May 14, 2025, India's Centre for Science and Environment shared a striking statistic: weather extremes have resulted in 35,000 deaths in India over the past two decades. This data emphasises the severe human toll of climate change in the country.

Luis und Martina von #ScientistRebellion standen heute in Berlin wegen Protestaktionen vor Gericht – beide Verfahren wurden eingestellt!

Was leider nicht eingestellt wurde: Dass fossile Konzerne ungestraft unsere Zukunft zerstören. Dagegen werden wir uns auch weiterhin wehren! ✊

Fossil fuel companies actively participate in the acceleration of the climate crisis, via the emission of greenhouse gases and the release of toxic chemicals during gas and oil production. In order to produce oil and gas, they are also involved in land grabs and pollute the surrounding ecosystems.

The government has a direct responsibility in this situation and we call on our politicians to take action. They must stop supporting this dirty industry.
