I have a friend who has been using Duolingo to learn Scots Gaelic. She feels a deep sense of betrayal at the firing of humans in favor of AI; the Scots Gaelic program was a labor of love by a very small group of volunteers.

After going through Beginners 1, 2 and 3 and Elementary 1, 2 and 3 at the University of Edinburgh, it's really disappointing not to be able to continue that same course.

Any Scottish Gaelic folk who can help me with this personal query? I'm looking what in English would be the "Western Isles" is written in geographical databases of administrative areas.
"Na h-Eileanan Siar" vs "Na h-Eileanan an Iar". Are these the same thing or is there a difference in meaning? What context do you use one over the other? Googling suggests former as council area, latter might be UK/Scottish parliament constituencies?
