The Mediterranean sea surface temperature has just set a new heat record. The average sea surface temperature for the Mediterranean just hit a staggering +28.15°C. Eighteen out of the top twenty hottest days for the Mediterranean sea surface have been observed in the last thirteen months alone."

Turkey 🇹🇷 has just hit a high of +39.2°C (102.6°F). This is the highest temperature recorded in the month of April for Turkey.
It is extremely hot in Africa too. Both Niger 🇳🇪 and Chad 🇹🇩 equal their respective April national records.
Meanwhile the chill continues for much of Europe...

April national records exceeded in Slovenia 🇸🇮, Bosnia & Herzegovina 🇧🇦 and Croatia 🇭🇷 but many other notable site records fell.

Truly outlandish.
Some places in Europe didn't just set new records for warmth in February... They went on to beat their warmest MARCH temperature levels.
Effectively everywhere in the dark red shading in Europe smashed the warmest February record - most by a large margin. Austria 🇦🇹 has over 250 years of temperature record and nothing compares to this. Not even close. Wiener Neustadt in the east of Austria was so warm that the temperature of February ... ⬇️
