Still part way through our Walker’s shortbread taste test, but switching to Dean’s tonight. It is never a good start when what looks like it will be a pack of 8 shortbread fingers turns out to be 7 fingers! And apparently that’s the correct amount. However, on plus, the shortbread is very melt in the mouth, not as dry as Sainsbury’s or as overly buttery as Walker’s. Onto Walker’s shortbread fingers, and both not enamoured, finding a rather overwhelmingly buttery after taste. Both on grapes to refresh! Update on the shortbread taste test. We’ve now demolished the Sainsbury’s Highland Shortbread pack. Both felt it was a bit dry. Martin found it a bit chunky. I liked that! Not too sweet. A few years on since last time, and we’re embarking on another shortbread taste test. Bought 3 different lots from the supermarket. First up Sainsburys Highland shortbread. Which I remember really liking. Though it’s maybe a bit on the crisp side. This year's blackcurrants have been disappointing. Several times I ate a couple, and each time I recalled that my mum would have said they taste "wersh".
Looking at the Dictionary of the Scots Language, the word has three broad meanings: (1) arid (2) insipid and tasteless (3) harsh and sour. (My mum meant the 3rd) It seems odd for a descriptive term to carry such different taste meanings?
Anyway, the currents that I picked this morning are just about sweet enough.

Following a data path from the #wikidata item on the warehouse that was formerly the place of Rose's Lime Juice, I realised that drink was missing from my query diagramming #ScottishFood and drink.
Following that line of thought, I saw Crabbie's, of Green Ginger fame, was also missing. And dredging further into Scottish exotica, nae Scotsmac (Wham's Dram / Bam's Dram) either.
A wee bit adjustment and they all now appear on the diagram.
