Jim and I went to #SeattleSymphony today, the first time in over 5 years (we had been subscribers). SS offered 20% off tickets for David Robertson conducting the orchestra and Chorale in Franz Josef Hayden's Creation. Breathtaking. Players were stunning, singers brilliant; noteworthy is Christopher Humbert Jr, whose clear bass baritone went straight to my heart. Nicholas Phan, tenor, and Heidi Stober, soprano substituting for Susanna Phillips contributed their considerable musicianship. ❤️ ❤️ 🎆

After years of surveys, meetings and deliberations, Sound Transit has officially changed the name of one of Seattle’s light rail stations downtown. What was the University Street Station is now: Symphony Station.

Wow! I had forgotten how good _Metropolis_ really is! There are some comedic moments that were not intended to be such, but overall it's so, so good - it kept me captivated for all 145minuts of it! Through jet lag!
The restored parts makes it almost a complete movie now, one key part still missing.
Experiencing it with live music, performed by the Seattle Symphony of course elevated it further. What a great start to being back home!

Best laid plans...I was going to go #tracking this morning but woke up with a nasty headache (not unusual for me). So now I'm working through some more of #HarvardX's #AncientGreek Hero course until it's time to leave for the #SeattleSymphony. #TanDun is conducting his own work and I'm very excited to hear it.
