#Kraskov is the mayor of the village of #Slabyn, in #Ukraine’s northern #Chernihiv region. The rustic settlement – population 520 – escaped the worst of #Russia’s 2022 full-scale invasion. But the war arrived last week in a new and horrible form. Ukrainian officials say the Russians deliberately poisoned the #Seym River, which flows into the #Desna. The Desna connects with a reservoir in the #Kyiv region and a water supply used by millions.

El ejército ruso no puede o no sabe revertir la situación en #Kursk y ahora aún menos en el río #Seym. La estrategia del ucraniano, estudiada y entrenada durante un año, pasó inadvertida a la inteligencia rusa.
La invasión de Kursk podría terminar en desastre ucraniano, pero también ruso; sin embargo, todo indica que el de Seym será solo ruso y muy grave.
El ucraniano utiliza bombas guiadas francesas y satélites de la #OTAN para atacar concentraciones rusas y los pontones sobre el río, lo que impide incluso la evacuación, no solo de militares sino también de civiles, que el ucraniano utilizará para intercambio de sus soldados prisioneros. Eso es un delito de guerra, pero comete tantos bajo la cobertura occidental, que no viene de uno más.

Como era de esperar, el ucraniano sigue avanzando en el frente de #Kursk, y no poco, y ha abierto un nuevo frente en el río #Seym, aún no sabemos a costa de qué y con qué objetivo. Lo que sí ya podemos dar por sentado es que la ofensiva de Kursk ha desplazado a 120.000 rusos, mientras el ucraniano ha tomado un territorio en el que vivían unos 50.000, a costa de 7.000 combatientes y más material que en #Robotyne el 2023.
Para el ruso eso le está representando un fuerte dolor de cabeza, aunque parece no inmutarse demasiado ni le ha hecho cambiar su plan de guerra, que es destruir al ucraniano, que con la inestimable ayuda de #Syrskyi y un poco de suerte, se está acelerando.
