My take is the opposite of the hypothetical authors. The fact that I have only like 1.5 games to play — #Undertale and #InvisibleInc, and maybe #DeusEx and #Thief (?!) is the legacy of white cis male fetishist #IdSoftware company and their senseless #DOOM (nb! I love #doomRL, I don't know what's wrong with me. nb! I've completed #DOOM, and I kind of liked it. But it actually contributes to the point).

The logical continuation of this were horrible, misogynistic #DukeNukem and racist #ShadowWarrior (I **loved** #ShadowWarrior as a kid, because I didn't see racism behind the veil of diversity, nor could I understand English enough to "appreciate" main character's "jokes").

Of course, certain people would miss this descent into the circles of hell (no pun intended)!

I want to live in a world where none of this have happened and Carmack was at most a hippie, not a filthy libertarian.

Ich werde jetzt eine Runde #OldschoolFPS #spielen. Um genau zu sein: die #ShadowWarrior #Trilogie. Im #PSN kann übrigens aktuell der dritte Teil für'n Zehner mitgenommen werden. Das 1997er #Debut von Shadow Warrior kann übrigens als #Port auf #Android gespielt werden. Leider mit qualvoll unpräziser Steuerung.

Die letzten Tage hier und da mal eine Stunde in das kurzweilige #ShadowWarrior II gesteckt und es jetzt mitsamt einiger Nebenmissionen (alle die ich finden konnte außer diese stumpfen Kopfgeldmissionen) nach 11,5 Stunden Spielzeit durch. Klasse Spiel von 2016, durchaus auch heute noch empfehlenswert. :)

@atomicpoet They'd continue on to reboot #ShadowWarrior with three, wildly different prequel shooters.

The first one is very much in the style of #HardReset and pretty exceptional.

Part 2 supports Co-op and is a loot-based, procedurally-generated #Borderlands clone.

And Part 3 is practically their take on #DoomEternal, albeit way shorter.

Build engine port backed by GZDoom tech. Currently supports Duke Nukem 3D, Blood, Shadow Warrior, Redneck Rampage and Powerslave/Exhumed.
