I mentally organize "psychological safety" next to "shared leadership." A common misconception of #sharedleadership is that it requires consensus on all decisions. Yet, it refers generally to a sense of empowerment for participation in the decision-making process. #psychologicalsafety is a key ingredient to enabling the sort of legitimate participation in a collective endeavor.

In my #crisisleadership courses, we've come around to the unit on command/control vs. #sharedleadership.
Full disclosure: I'm a proponent of working shared leadership approaches into the #incidentmanagement construct.
I'm struck by the number of students that label shared approaches as "slow." Sure, if one sought consensus from all possible stakeholders , it would be slow. But...simply empowering and making participation available doesn't slow #decisionmaking down considerably.
