This weekend was only a bit chilly in #Aurora, #Illinois. Our dog Ava enjoyed a nice long walk-- actually, more like a trot-- and I rode my bicycle. (I have heel spurs, so I ride slowly while she trots or runs alongside me.)

The kids in our neighborhood all know and love her, and she loves the attention. They came running from the playground to pet her, just as soon as they saw her.

After supper, Ava got comfortable resting at dad's feet. Somehow, his foot makes a nice pillow.

Once again this year, my neighborhood will sound like a war zone. So once again this year, I will be celebrating the #4thOfJuly driving around farms roads from before dark until probably around 1:00am, searching for a quiet peaceful spot for a terrified dog. 😢💔🐾

(Fireworks are illegal in my home state of #Illinois, but you wouldn't know it from the number of private citizens shooting off M-80s and having private sky shows.)

That's a great pet brush for long-haired and thick-undercoated #dogs. We have a #Sheltie, so we need to give a deep comb first to get rid of snarls, then use that brush to grab stray loose hairs, down deep.

When we're done brushing in the summertime, there are so many fur clumps drifting around the yard, that our back yard looks like another animal was viscously attacked there.

But I would rather have it outside and all over the yard, than all over the house and on all the furniture.
