The satellite and radar over the Northland at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 1, 2025, shows a line of showers over Koochiching and Itasca counties that is moving from west to east.  We also have a blob of showers over most of northwest Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula, moving from southwest to northeast.  The space in-between is seeing isolated showers and a few breaks in the cloud cover.Temperatures in the Northland just after 1 p.m. on May 1, 2025, range from 45 to 64 degrees Fahrenheit.When compared to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, temperatures across the Northland as of around 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 1, are mostly cooler by a few degrees to 13-degrees Fahrenheit cooler.  The Twin Ports region and parts of the Iron Range are warmer by 2 to 6 degrees.Wind speeds in the Northland just after 1 p.m. on May 1, 2025, range from calm to 14 mph.  Wind direction is primarily from the north, with a lake breeze coming off Lake Superior.

They are moving to the east and northeast.The strong thunderstorm over northern Aitkin County that had a Tornado Warning on in at one point this evening continued to see weakening rotation.  It is still likely producing gusty winds and small hail.

An enhanced risk cover the rest of the I-35 corridor, the Twin Ports, the rest of northwest Wisconsin, and the Upper Peninsula.  A slight risk covers the Iron Range, Boundary Waters, and Arrowhead regions.  A marginal risk covers the western half of the Rainy River Basin.The satellite and radar over Minnesota and the Northland at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, April 28, 2025, shows scattered showers and thunderstorms over the northcentral portion of Minnesota, moving to the northeast.  A line of thunderstorms over west-central and southwest Minnesota, which will likely be part of the severe weather threat over the Northland later today, is moving to the east/northeast. A #storm system will bring plenty of #showers and #thunderstorms through the #Northland Sunday night and Monday. It will be a #soaker with #breezy #winds.

The afternoon and evening hours are the biggest risk for #severe #storms, and all threat are possible. That means the potential for large #hail, high winds, and multiple #tornadoes.
