#shutdown2025 Yesterday I not only worked a full 8 hrs, but extra hours on top of it to support work on our telephone system. I am an "excepted" Federal Civilian. Because our business of providing healthcare to Military and their family members cannot stop, we, the Military staff and the Civilian staff (including contractors who still have funding for their contracts) are working, but we did not get paid for the first few days of the fiscal year and are on track to not be paid (in a timely manner) for our labor this pay period. I am seeing contractors pack up their desks as they lose coverage. We aren't furloughed at home, we come to work and do what needs doing and hope that our elected goverment officials figure it out and fund the operations of the USA. Not by creative accounting and borrowing from Peter to pay Paul, but to do their fiduciary responsibility per the Constitution and US Law.

Two weeks into gov #shutdown, Trump admin has frozen or canceled nearly $28 billion that had been reserved for more than 200 projects primarily located in #Democratic-led #cities.
