More than just an homage, it's intentionally done in the style of a Silver/Bronze Age comic, an' I love it.

Do ya' leik the deik? I'm sure ya' do! We're all just a buncha deik leikers here!

This is an accurate representation of what it's like inside my head most a' the time. What kinda random thoughts like this do ya have, poozers? Lemme know!

In a comic panel Superman, surrounded by a green jungle, furrows his brow in thought. He says, "My great loves have all had the initials L.L.! Lois Lane, Lana Lang, Lori Lemaris, Lex Luthor...am I just attracted to people with those initials? What would you even call that? Let's see, words that deal with words, like dictionary, come from the Latin dicere, meaning to say! That comes from the proto-indo-european root Deik, meaning to show! Like how initials show a name! So perhaps that's the correct word! A deik-sexual! Yes, I am a deiksexu-- oh wait, no, I hear it now. I mean, Batman's deik is nice but I like Lois too." A caption reads "A Kilowog-core Edit."

Sometimes I just start editin' an' let the story take me where it wants ta' take me. This is one a' those times. The original wuz kinda formulaic, but it did establish that Atlantean exiles have violet eyes (sometimes, at least).

How would you have this story go?

Four edited comic panels.telling the story of Aquaman meeting a blonde woman who looks just like him in an identical costume. After sounding like an obsessed stalker, Aquaman makes an excuse that a ship needs his help. Incensed, she goes off to sink the ship, but ends up meeting a tentacle monster and falling in love with its tentacles instead. A caption reads, "A Kilowog-core Edit".

In Mark Waid's recent "World's Finest: Teen Titans" Speedy's depicted as someone who gets all the material an' trainin' from his rich partner that he needs, but none a' the time or love from a father/older brother figure that he craves.

An' yeah, apparently there's precedent for that goin' all the way back ta' the '50s. Don't be a jerk, Ollie!

In a comic panel a young Roy Harper, later known as Speedy, is trying to impress Green Arrow with his archery by shooting down a football field. Instead, his arrow swerves dramatically and hits the metal bleachers. Roy thinks, "Gulp! Missed again! W-what's happened to me? I-I can't hit anywhere near the target?" Roy says, "P-please give me another change, Green Arrow! I know I can hit that goal post!" Green Arrow is already walking off. He says, "Sorry, son! Take it from me... you're wasting your time and mine! You'll never make an archer!" A caption reads, "Green Arrow says... if at first you don't succeed give up forever, you're wasting your time". A caption reads "A Kilowog-core Edit".

Mebbe ya didn't know that Bizarro No. 1 wuz not the first Bizarro in comics! The first Bizarro wuz Bizarro Superboy from Superboy #68.

There's a reason this one don't get reprinted much, an' that's cuz Superboy's straight-up the villain a' the piece, persecutin' Bizarro just cuz he's ugly. Seems kinda off-brand.

Two comic panels. In the first, Superboy is talking to a soldier at an army camp. A caption reads, "To defeat his flawed duplicate, wanted for the heinous crime of being awkward..." The soldier says, "Let me get this right-- you want to nuke Smallville to see what happens?" Superboy says, "Just outside Smallville, yes, to see what happens to Bizarro!" The soldier hesitates, then says, "You're lucky it's the '50s." The next panel shows Superboy flying through the air, dropping a nuclear bomb toward Bizarro. A caption reads, "Look, he does try to nuke Bizarro. That happens." Superboy says, "Move over Spider-Man, there's a new Menace! Duck and cover!" A caption on the nuke reads "A Kilowog-core Edit"

Th' dialogue is original, I just changed the caption and touched up the old art.

You wanna see where liberals stand? Look at how blue city mayors acted when there were mass BLM protests in their cities. When push comes ta' shove, liberals side with th' fascists. That's why we keep organizin'!

Three comic panels are captioned "The left asked for solidarity, but in liberal households across the USA..." Superboy, in his secret identity as young Clark Kent, rises from a chair in his bedroom. A full moon shines through the window. Clark says, "I--I suddenly feel so strange-- so different..." In the next panel he smirks sinisterly and says, "It's as if I'm changing-- changing into another person! I don't want to be good and help people anymore..." In the final panel, he smiles an open-mouthed, evil smile and says, "I want to do the opposite... can't help myself..." A caption reads "A Kilowog-core Edit"

A comic panel is captioned "When they pause for refreshments..." Superboy and the three founders of the Legion of Superheroes are enjoying ice cream in an ice cream parlor with a sign that proclaims "Nine delicious flavors from nine planets". Model planets hang about the ice cream shoppe, one of which is labeled "A Kilowog-core Edit". Superboy says, "Wait a second, you've taken me to an ice cream parlor of the future! So why does it say nine planets! There's only 8, or 13 if you count the dwarf planets!" Saturn Girl says, "Of course we count the dwarf planets! But the gas giants were all destroyed by Elon Musk in 2031. We think he was trying to turn Uranus, sorry, Planet X as he called it, into a billboard."

60p pickup. Astro Boy from Gold Key, 1965. Not a good comic, not in great condition, but a helluva historical comic. Manga/Anime makes it's first foray into American Comics. #astroboy #silveragecomics #comics #manga #anime

Working on really cool old LIFE magazines. This photo hit home today, 62 years after it's publication. Our shop was already about 23 years old when this magazine was new.

A picture of a large black and white photo across two pages of a February 2, 1962 "LIFE" magazine. In the photo, a young man with short dark wavy hair, wearing thick rimmed glasses, a light-colored collared shirt, a dark cardigan sweater, dark trousers with cuffs, white socks, and black Oxford shoes, sits crouched forward on a padded seat with chrome legs, reading a thick magazine, as follows:

"128 pages of Tax Information that can save you money. NEW EXPANDED EDITION. $1 America's Favorite INCOME TAX GUIDE. The Tax Digest, Inc. New York."

Most of the, then New, comics have a cover price of twelve cents. Titles and characters visible in the photo include:

Woody Woodpecker, "GIRLS' ROMANCES," BATMAN, "Walt Disney's DONALD DUCK ALBUM," Dennis the Menace, "SUPERBOY," "Playful LITTLE AUDREY," "LIFE with Archie," King Leonardo, Barbie, Looney Tunes, Baby Huey, Archie Comics "LAUGH," "MYSTERY IN SPACE," "WORLD'S FINEST," "Mickey Mouse," "Huckleberry Hound," Bugs Bunny, "UNCLE $CROOGE," "Adventure Comics," "Archie's MAD HOUSE," "SUPERMAN'S PAL Jimmy Olsen," and more.
