Awesome day today!
Got to take one of our semi-annual trips up north with my daughter and her husband. Despite the pissing down rain, we headed up into #SkagitValley onto #ChuckanutDrive

We took a nice walk down to the water in #LarrabeeStatePark to check out the rock formations, moss, lichen, and a few teeny mushrooms. Managed to get a bunch of pictures and I'm looking forward to sorting through them tomorrow.

Also stopped by one of my favorite local cheesemongers(Samish Bay Cheese) in the area and picked up partial wheel of cheese and some lebneh cheesecake.

Here's my WTA report of our New Years Eve day hike at Little Mountain Park up in Mount Vernon. But before the hike, we had breakfast at the Train Wreck Bar & Grill in Burlington. On my weekend trip up through #SkagitValley , I gave in and decided to try growing a #mushroom log one more time.

Seems like my first one was broken! /s (or failed miserably due to a stoopid heat wave...🤷‍♀️ )

I got the last log of the season at Snow Goose & this time it was a Golden Oyster.

After 4 days, things are poppin'! I can see ~100 caps so far (fingers crossed).

Group ride with the BIKES Club of Snohomish County following the Cascade Trail from Sedro to Concrete. Beautiful scenery the whole way. Lunch at 5b's Bakery in Concrete. Hot day. I carried 2.5 liters in a bladder pack (Osprey Katari 7) plus my water bottle. Drank it all but 0.75L. Riding my 1995 Gary Fisher Tassajara. Early dinner at the Train Wreck Bar & Grill in Burlington. Chalked another Skagit Spring Classic. I was going to ride the 65-miler like I did last year, but I had to be home early for a concert. So, I rode the 45-miler. The event hosted an after-ride spaghetti lunch, and it came with a free glass of beer at Farmstrong Brewing in Mount Vernon. Great weather, great day, great ride.

The Pleasant Ridge Cemetery is a final resting place for many of Skagit Valley's original European settlers. I stopped there a couple weeks ago to take a few photos. I chanced upon the family plot of Roozen, the largest tulip bulb producer in the Valley (I think).
