I turned 40 yesterday; every milestone (a date) for me is a trigger to reassess where I’m at. I’m not feeling my age. I like a lot about being me, love my family, love what I do. Yet the number is happening too soon… I need to mentally catch up with it. Haven’t been sketching much recently but got to tune some of the holiday sketches while in the soft play today 😁. Here they are:

My first live sketching session as a commission! We postponed it for a few Fridays because of the weather but this morning looked doable. It was really cold and windy after an hour on the beach 🥶 At one point watercolour refused to cooperate and I moved into a coffee shop to get warm and add a few marks while the memory is fresh. Will take a look again tomorrow 👀
