The street, #Finkenherd (literally "finch hearth", though its meaning is closer to "finch trap"), is famous for its half-timbered houses. The Café am Finkenherd occupies three of these historic buildings.
According to legend, Henry the Fowler, Duke of Saxony and father of our famous Otto The Great, was trapping birds here when he was told he was to be king – centuries before the houses were built, of course. He was crowned king of East Francia in 919, the first non-Frankish king no less.

Ich habe so auf euch Nordlichter gehofft, insbesondere auf die Mecklenburger.😞
Auf meiner Chrysanthemenpirsch (Danke, Xela (@xela) für den klasse Begriff 😉) bin ich mit einer älteren Dame vor ihrem Haus ins Gespräch gekommen. Dabei entdeckte ich das lustige Schwein.
Sie erzählte mir dann, dass ihr Ehemann einen Brunnen entworfen hat, und da ihr das Schwein so gefallen hätte, hat man einen zweiten Guss davon gemacht.
Das erste Schwein suhlt sich immer noch in Rostock im ‚Brunnen der Lebensfreude‘ und erfreut die Kinder und Erwachsene.
Der Brunnen wurde von den Bildhauern Reinhard Dietrich und Jo Jastram 1980 geschaffen und steht auf dem zentralen Universitätsplatz/Kröpeliner Straße in Rostock.
Das war ein interessanter Nachmittag.

Hier noch eine andere Perspektive vom Wildschwein.
"Khong" was/is an Architectural concrete light sculpture. This sculpture contained of a box of which rectangular and angular shapes were pushed out, pulled in and cut out. It ever has been shipped of to San Diego when posting to the US of A was still easy.

Takamatsu I is a monolithic light sculpture shaped with straight lines, surfaces and spaces.
The lamps main body is made of concrete with a coarse sand as aggregate that has been wire brushed, sanded and or polished resulting in different textures and feels.
