Well then. I'm going to have to really look at all the freaking tools that I have and use. This evening I went totally on battery power for the house. But also no internet. The amount of s*** that completely breaks with no internet was far more than I expected. #Smartthings Dead. #Emporia Dead. What is the most disconcerting is the fact that my #Plex container in my #Truenas scale system refuses to come up without an internet connection. It just hangs at deploying. There's a red herring in the container logs about missing path. All I know is when I give it an internet connection and restart the container it works. Plenty of examples of this on the internet with ass hats saying just add an internet connection. Yeah because internet can never go down, ever. 🤬

Samsung #SmartThings wirbt damit, dass man seinen Samsung #Fernseher mit dem #Smartphone als Fernbedienung benutzen kann und so seine #Fernbedienung nie wieder suchen muss.
Kann ich nicht bestätigen. Der einzige Vorteil ist, dass ich meine verschwundene Fernbedienung jetzt anrufen und klingeln lassen könnte (wenn sie nicht wegen Heimkinoabend auf Nicht Stören/Stumm geschaltet wäre).
p.s.: war übrigens auch hinters Sofakissen gerutscht, wie eine echte Fernbedienung.

@dr_muesli I don’t understand KNX. It’s seems to me to just be a very expensive version of something that doesn’t need to be. I mean, it’s just remote control dimmers, isn’t it? Or am I missing something?

What can it do that some Shelly Pro Dimmers/Relays and a home automation hub like #hubitat #smartthings or #homeassistant cant?
