As much as I still despise #Apple's #AntiRepairDesign and #SolderedDownRAM which has no legitimate excuse, the #MacMiniM4 at least doesn't have #SolderedDownSSDs anymore so #Upgrades and #Repair on that part that WILL INEVITABLY FAIL OVER TIME AND USE is getting cheaper.

• So based off @fuchsiii 's own experience I can second @geerlingguy 's recommendation for these #aftermarket #SSDs...

@paul they certainly raised RAM with the MacMini 8,1 to 8GB and M4 to 16 GB...

• Still #SolderedDownRAM and #SolderedDownSSD|s and even #proprietary parts in general are an #AntiRepairDesign that should be outlawed by @EUCommission !

@JessTheUnstill @wdjorth @GreenRoc Whilst some stuff can be designed to be fixable, what really grinds my gear when it's deliberately NOT done for no valid reason.

• There is *no valid excuse for #SolderedDownRAM & #SolderedDownSSD|s on anything that is bigger than a #Pi0W - and even then I'd argue there's no reason to not use socketed #eMMC over proprietary soldered-down chips.

Good #SolidCaps practically don't blow up, but cheap crap does...
