This piece is another in my series of "Red Cloaks" images. I think the filigree ended up looking like a metal die-cut instead of a built-up bead, but I still think it's effective none-the-less as something unique and interesting.

This style of "Art Nouveau" (or whatever it is) really feels satisfying to me to work in. I've done a lot of images now in this mode, practicing it and refining it to make it more of my own. This image is an older image and one of the last that I'll be sharing here on Pixelfed before I launch into sharing my more recent pieces that each represent a specific story or tale.

Got this done on my livestream today: “The Tortoise and the Hare”.

I realized as I was making it that all of my art is rather edgy dark… It sort of straddles fantasy art and kidlit topics and nestles into a weird middles ground that I kind of like.

Even my birds! All spotlighted and surrounded by rich jewel tones… I hadn’t realized it until it hit me today, mid-stream. Huh.

Anyway, I also made this piece into a new greeting card! Woohoo!

A stylistic landscape painting was a hardedge brush and lots of brush strokes. The scene is a grassland with wildflowers littering the grassy areas. A head of bison graze out in the distance before a mountain range covers the horizon. The sky is littered with sparse clouds and in the foreground is the edge of a small lake. Lilly pads and their flowers litter the water's edge along with some dragon flies flying around. A couple of butterflies chilling on the grass sprouting from the water along with two frogs sitting on some lily pads. A gator can be seen cruising on the waters surface coming from the foreground towards the lily pads.

This piece is a continued exploration of three-dimensionality using Procreate. I started feeling really comfortable with textures and layering and I think it turned out cool!
