We're early yet - seems #SportsTwitter is hellbent on hanging on over there as long as they can. Shame, I do miss it.
There's a #MapleLeafs #Bruins game on as we speak, it's thus far a close game (only 1-0 in the 2nd period), and there's zero chatter here.
Mastodon #fediverse has gotten very cool and basically fills the void left when I deactivated on the birdsite. The only thing that I'm missing is #SportsTwitter. Let me know if anyone knows any good sports (MLB/NFL in particular) follows.
The only thing missing from Mastodon right now is #sports (formally #SportsTwitter) and #BlackMastodon (formally #BlackTwitter)
@jomo #Sports is likely the last bastion that keeps the bird site sticky for me. There just isn't a lot of live action here, to toot during a game, or engage the talking heads. I periodically shout out to #SportsTwitter to get on over to Mastodon...the results are far from encouraging to-date.
At any rate, a new habit to learn here, you NEED hashtags in your toots to be more seen as you ramp up your follows. So, whether it's #Packers or #Yankees or #Ovechkin or #WetheNorth, hashtag liberally.
