🇬🇧 Last Friday, I found us a #hike that was supposed to be a loop (spotted it on official maps) but it turned out a part didn't exist (no path and we struggled in slopes and through brambles).
I always try to make the most of it, sometimes there are surprises... This time, we came across 2 young #stags that we happily photographed (but we zoomed in too much) without being spotted (well they don't see many people pass by there I think).
Further on, we saw 5 stags scurrying 30 m in front of us. They didn't flee in the opposite direction, we were silent and in the territory of a pack of #wolves, we might have come across some!
The hike began near a #ruined village and we soon came across a #source that charmed me.
The shape of the #tree emerging from the wall particularly captivated me! And further on we saw a centuries-old #oak.
In short, if you're coming for a stroll with me, beware, but try to enjoy even if it goes weird! 🙃

🇫🇷 Vendredi dernier je nous ai déniché une #randonnée qui était censée faire une boucle (repérée sur les carto officielles) mais il s'est avéré qu'une partie n'existait pas (pas de chemin et on a galéré dans la pente et les ronces).
J'essaie toujours de profiter, on a parfois des surprises... Cette fois, nous sommes tombés à l'aplomb de 2 jeunes #cerfs que nous avons allègrement photographiés (mais on a trop zoomé) sans se faire repérer (faut dire qu'ils ne doivent pas voir passer grand monde à cet endroit).
Plus loin, nous avons vu 5 cerfs détaler à 30 m devant nous. Ils n'ont pas fuit à l'opposé, on était silencieux et sur le territoire d'une meute de #loups, on en a peut-être croisé !
La rando commençait près d’un village en #ruines et nous avons vite croisé une source qui m'a charmée.
La forme de l’ #arbre sortant du mur m’a particulièrement captivée ! Et plus loin nous avons vu un #chêne pluri-centenaire.
Bref si vous venez en balade avec moi, méfiez-vous mais tâchez de profiter si ça part en cahuète ! 🙃

We had two horned visitors in the past couple of days. We’ve watched both of them grown from fawns into young stags. One is still a baby stag, the kind we call spikes because they only have two horns with no other points. This is the one we used to call Baby Bumps.

The other has grown from a young, velvet-covered 4-pointer into a handsome 5-pointer. He came into the front yard and spent a few minutes pawing a nice, cool place in the dirt to have a nap. Later, I found him in the back yard munching on the lilac bush after grazing on something that had been sprouting up in the plant trough. We were letting the mystery plant grow until we could figure out what it was, but no chance of that now. I “encouraged” Mr. Stag to move on at that point.
