Over 7,000 criminally prosecuted for political reasons. Nearly 4,000 recognized as political prisoners. Today, 1,189 remain behind bars in inhumane conditions.

"How can the elections be considered democratic if the entire opposition is in prison or has left?"
His answer-
"Some chose prison, some chose exile - that's democratic."
