It looks like they have gone to subscription model to access the “Pro” apps (FCP, Motion, Logic, Mainstage, Compressor, Pixelmator)
But the original “iWork" apps are still free. Pages, Keynote, Numbers (and by extension iMovie though it is not included in the "Creator Studio” presumably because it ships with every Mac)
That said... and yes... this is how they get you… the annual subscription for everything is "only” $180/yr or $18/mo plus Family Sharing privleges.
That goes down to $40/yr and $4/mo if you do the Educational license, but no family provisions.

@maikel I hate #subscriptions espechally when they don't have a reason to be subscriptions.
Doubly if they are forced-in as in non-subscribers get a dysfunctional product.
Triply if this could've been a one-time - purchase instead.
I can understand a #subscription when it inevitably incurs constant costs not reasonable or possible to be paid once in advance, like hosting (storage, compute, traffic) services (that ain't #SaaS just to prevent #SelfHosting!).

Find a link that looks interesting? 95% chance you won't be able to read the article because it is paywalled. No, I am not going to subscribe to your publication just to read one article.
Make it possible for me to kick you half a buck or a buck for a single article and we'll talk. Maybe I'll even be back for more. But to lock myself into a #subscription if I don't even know I am going to peruse it properly? Fuck that noise.
(And yes, I get it, journalists also need to - and should be - paid for their work. And yes, ad-supported journalism is dying. But I also only have a limited budget available, and I don't consume enough online journalism to make most subs worthwhile to me. Such is life)
