#SugarBabyWatermelon

Melon update. I've seen the bees working the blossoms a little bit, or one bee. The hexagon bed is slowly filling up with vines. There are some little baby watermelon but the first ones usually aren't pollinated. Another raised bed has appeared...

A baby Sugar Baby Watermelon. It is pea sized and sorta striped. If it doesn't grow it's not pollinated.A cantaloupe type melon plant with lots of small yellow flowers. It is vining out in several directions. There are many marigold seedlings in the bed with it.A hexagon shaped metal raised bed with melon plants in it. There are 3 honeydew melon plants and three watermelon plants. In the middle is a large half buried blue barrel planter that has marigolds, fireweed, and a tomato plant in it. The raised bed has 3 orange stakes with micro-rotator sprinklers on them. Beyond the hexagon bed is a 9x3 foot bed that is empty except for the pile of dirty leaves and debris in it. This will be a strawberry bed that can be covered easily to protect against the American Robins and California Quail or chickens when mr. gardener leaves the gate open.

The watermelon and honeydew melon bed. The youngest watermelon seedling was thinned to one, the older plants are vining fast, and the center planter with marigolds, fireweed (I think), and a tomato plant is looking good.

A small watermelon plant after it's sibling was pulled from the soil. There is a rooster feather beyond it from the chicken compost.A larger watermelon plant that is vining out in a couple of directions. There is a marigold plant near and far on the edge of the raised hexagon shaped bed and a 35 gallon blue planter beyond to the left and the single small plant previously shown in the distance.A green flesh honeydew melon plant. It is more upright than the watermelon plants and is vining out too.The blue center planter in the hexagon raised bed. It has some fireweed plants, or willowherb, marigolds, and a single tomato plant that has a green stake next to it. There is a row of strawberry plants beyond the raised bed.

The small musk melon bed is filling up nicely. There's a couple of sugar baby watermelon on the right edge of this too.

A 9x3x1 foot raised metal garden bed. It has Minnesota midget melons planted which are a small musk melon. There are also a couple of sugar baby watermelons. Beyond it is a striped volunteer petunia, to the left is a bed with zucchini and summer squash.

We currently have honey delights, black cherries, our first black brandywine, and gladiator tomatoes, two sugar babies, and a honey nut! Our shishito is the first to start blooming.

A couple days ago, they all got plant food. Today they all got Epsom salts.

Really excited about this year's garden! :D
