my peas are demonstrating exponential growth

Our president is a maniac who is trying to get us all killed, but on the bright side my rabbit deterrence worked and I just ate peas from my garden for the first time in 3 years. #sugarsnappeas #gardening

Peas, no peas.

The cucumber bed with more of not-cucumbers in it. Harvested some beets this morning, pulled the pea vines that were done enough, and removed the plastic mesh. There are 4 cucumber plants from saved seeds, and 2 small cantaloupe type melons from saved seeds in the bed besides the beets, marigolds, petunias, mystery plants I haven't pulled...

The sugar snap peas started to bloom today.

A closeup photo showing a sugar snap pea blossom. It is white and facing downward near the top of a vine that is about 80cm tall. The metal 10 line cattle panel trellis is behind it. There's a small plastic black and red sprinkler on the left side of the photo visible.

I was going to loop some cotton between two sticks, maybe cross it, for the peas, so I was measuring things.. then I went looking for some old bird netting I have.. but then I saw the half height plastic mesh fencing and one of them was ripped up so I decided to just use it.

Problem solved for now, probably new one created for later.

A photo showing plastic mesh fencing that is half height being used as a bridge between the soil level and the cattle panel trellis that is a foot above or more. This should allow the peas to more easily grow up. It might also be a hassle for cucumber vines and for cleaning up.

Beets and peas. I put some stakes in but I probably need something better. I'm trying to avoid something that interferes with my lazy gardening like synthetic netting full of pea and cucumber stems that I'll spend an hour cleaning to reuse. ;) Been there, done that.

A closeup photo of beet seedlings. They are mostly green leafed but there's a cluster of red leafed ones too. There's also what appears to be Agastache foeniculum Anise Hyssop seedling growing there too.A closeup photo of sugar snap pea plants growing near a bamboo stake. They had days to hug the stake but haven't.

A closeup photo of two sugar snap pea plants that have some tendrils starting to grow. They'll need a stake or twine to make their way up to the trellis above.

Pea, beet, and radish growth. The seeds were planted 4 weeks ago.

A cropped closeup photo of beetroot seedlings. The leaves are green on top and red underneath but the red side is facing the camera on some.A cropped closeup photo of some radish seedlings. They are starting to grow more green leaves, the stems are red.A cropped closeup photo of a sugar snap pea seedling, the green leaves are still curled up some.

Maybe the first sugar snap pea. It's been 3 weeks since they were planted.

A cropped closeup photo of a light green sprout emerging from the raised bed soil. It is possibly a pea. There are decaying conifer needles and twigs around it along with other organic material.

First sugarsnap flowers of the year. Sugar Magnolia and Delikett. Nice little trip to the plot this afternoon, and my neighbour gave me a spare white courgette plant to try.

Trying sugar magnolia on a windy plot, so lots of lashing together of canes. Hoping for a good crop, but we'll have to see how it goes.

Mostly grown from seed with a "put it in the ground and watch it grow" attitude. Even managed to grow sugar snap peas in an old recycling bin with bamboo poles.
