I am not saying that here, on my slice of the #fediverse, I found "my" people. What I do say is that Facebook, Twitter, Insta, TikTok, BlueSky, Threads are definitely not "my" people. I think I've uncovered evidence that we're in "The Matrix".

I take the dog for a walk on the same route along the beach most mornings. I often bump into a friend or two and a few people I'm familiar with but...

There also seems to be an infinite number of people and dogs who are procedurally generated - I've never seen them before and never see them again!

Something I had enjoyed about Twitter was just sticking random thoughts out there. No images necessary. IG is less friendly for that. Mastodon doesn't have much engagement. I guess it's cross posting and finding a home.
