He espouses the radical view that

“worthy successor”
in the form of #superintelligent #AGI 💥to replace our species, Homo sapiens.

This AGI, he contends, should have “alien, inhuman” moral values and volitions
⭐️ so long as it proceeds to colonize the universe and create ever “greater” manifestations of what he calls the “flame of consciousness and potentia.”

Thank you for sending me this vid! I'm learning that there's a debate about the ugency of #AISafety" vs #AIEthics. #Harari and #Bengio are focused on "AI Safety" — restraining/controlling a #SuperIntelligent #AGI (general AI). It's more theoretical + philosophical. Others are focused on #AIEthics which is trying to avoid the harm that algorithms and #AI are causing now for disadvantaged people (runaway #capitalism, discrimination and #bias, #misinformation, environmental damage)

And so, loftily absolving yourself from caring about the world around you because, supposedly, your actions may make a future world better (in reality, you've found a nice #grift/hobby combo - looking at you ethical #superintelligent AI people) Is Not Ethical.

The future can only ever arise from the present. Again, this is the confusion about real-actual, and potential.
