Sony is essentially demanding that ISPs cut off millions of people's internet access, including universities and hospitals, because of a small amount of repeat infringers. Their demands are completely unworkable.

This would be like cutting a family's food access off because little Billy tried to take a candy bar without paying once. It's an extremely disproportionate punishment.

Fortunately, it looks like the Supreme Court is leaning towards Cox's side in this case (essentially saying what I have: Unworkability of Sony's demands/Overly harsh punishment).
