I took this at Swayambhu Mahachaitya (also called the "Monkey Temple") in Kathmandu. Believed to date back to 460 A.D., it was built by King Manadeva, and by the 13th century, it had become an important center of Buddhism.

The image depicts the Swayambhunath temple complex, also known as the Monkey Temple, located in Kathmandu, Nepal. The complex is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most sacred Buddhist sites in Nepal.

In the foreground, there are several stone statues of Buddha and other deities, as well as intricate carvings on the walls and roofs of the temples. The main temple, which is dedicated to the deity Swayambhu, or "Self-Created," is surrounded by smaller shrines and stupas. The complex also features a large stupa at its center, which is adorned with colorful prayer flags and offers stunning views of the city.

The image also shows several monkeys roaming around the temple grounds, adding to the unique atmosphere of this sacred site. Overall, the Swayambhunath temple complex is a must-visit destination for anyone interested in exploring Nepal's rich cultural heritage and spiritual traditions.
