Insulin is easily available right now - T1 diabetics worldwide (but probably especially Americans) should consider stocking up extra if you have the means (and the fridge space)
Novo Nordisk makes 50% of the worlds insulin reply, and they are based in Denmark.

On Jan 1st. a number of US Health Insurances switched CGMs to Prescription plans. It itself, it makes no sense, but whatever…
That being said, they also switched from T0 (no copay) to T2 (preferred brand, but with a monthly copay). And as a T0 alternative, we are offered insulin :->
Clearly they don't understand what CGMs are!

Estimated average remaining life expectancy for a 10-year-old child diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 2024, which ranges from 6 years in one Sub-Saharan African country to over 66 years in some high-income countries.
One huge hurdle for cell therapies aimed to treat type 1 diabetes will be the cost of the cells.
Remarkably, Chinese researchers now can create 1,000 patient doses of pancreatic islet cells derived from induced pluripotent stem cells for around $500,000, according to T1D pioneer Camillo Ricardi of the University of Miami.
