Last night the school’s fashion show happened. 16 hour day means dress for comfy glam. With a fan of course!
Normalizing #wearingWhatYouHave in a dress made for my 10 year wedding anniversary (17 years old) and newly made pants from last fall.

Finished this custom piece for a client today… travel #hoodie with deep side seam #pockets #silk #charmeuse lining the hood, a natural button closure and I decided I would rather make a #boundButtonhole than a machine one. I went vertical as gravity would help hold the piece closed and it suited the narrow double stitched folded back finish. #customClothing #ottawaSewist #designer #uncededAlgonquinTerritory #creativeAndPractical

#meMade #TAVCreationsOriginal outfit for the last day of classes at the #RRFashionDesignAcademy. My last day of teaching was yesterday with exams all day so today I’ll head in to mark those exams and enjoy some farewell chicanery in the afternoon with the students.
Of course I’m back in on Monday for final presentations, then the show May 10, and my evening part time classes continue until late June… but it’s sort of last day vibes…😀
Oh, and I’ll pop out to give blood mid morning… #busyday

Not your average bridesmaid dress for sure so kudos to the bride- all of her ladies had a pewter, silver colour scheme and their own designs.

#flashback to a custom made lace dress that took advantage of the lace pattern and worked with it to create elegant symmetry.

Using a dark blush satin lining hightlighted the shapes of the lace.
Illusion mesh at the shoulders and neckline made the dress comfortable and secure for the dancing!
