Given that we'll unlikely get @EUCommission to abolish #Spyware like #eCall from #cars I propose that instead, manufacturers need to look outside that impractical envelope if they want to build #EVs (even #BEVs ffs!) that people can actually afford by focussing on other Vehicle classes.

  • I know #L2e may be deemed too restrictive at a deadweight of 270kg, 4kW output [measured on the wheels], 45km/h tops and 1+1 capacity even tho this will be sufficient for most trips from #suburbia to #downtown in car-centric shitholes like #LA during #RushHour but I digress...

  • #L5e removes the weight limitations (unlike #L6e & #L7e which only allows #batteries to be discounted from it's 425kg/450kg-600kg max deadweight) and keeps things at a reasonable 15kW output [system output] which is almost precisely 1/3 of my car but with #ElectricVehicles there's way more #torque and thus #acceleration, which is what makes a vehicle actually feel fast and zippy, so it should be on-par if not feel faster given that #Autobahn segments without speed limits are an exception and noone in their right mind expects a sub-€10k PLV to be cushy like an Audi A4.

  • Also for fuck sake give us a goddamn #CCS2 #charging socket on the vehicle not just on €13k+ luxury scooters but on like everything because that's an #EU standard and every actual #ChargingStation should support that. If necessary make it a single-phase charging thing if that's the only way possible!

That being said, that efficiency is beatable if we - like #Volkswagen - stretch the rules and don't go by EC Vehicle Class M1, but #L5e or even #L2e, because then a lot of mandatory stuff just falls away and the small power envelope of 4-15kW [on the wheels ] is not that little if we look at #Diesel and espechally #electric powertrains, as for anything besides long distrance & highway use, low-speed acceleration and deceleration is more relevant and that is dependent on #torque (and tire grip).

  • Which is why #Bonn has a shitton of #HybridCars for #Taxis because when the average trip is less than 10km and the average speed below 30km/h (with top speeds rarely reaching 50), it's more important to safely and quickly advere to traffic lights and -flow than "make speed indicator go brr!"...

couldn't find a definite source, happy to attribute if anyone knows.

I don't know how they did this, maybe computer generated? file date 2014 so it isn't AI. Some kind of swirl effect or whatever, and I think it's effective to express some kind of experience, I'm sort of abstractly confused and trying to focus and get back on track today. I like the bright colors on a black background, I think that always looks cool.

#art @art #cranky #twist #torque #radiate #focus

these are bright liquid colors that seem to have been twisted or swirled without blending, so that the pools of color have been stretched and bent, mostly around a focus point in the upper right

A M3 screw was lost from this KT LCD4 #ebike #display.

It was fixed~ with a wood screw. Sermon time.

Learned from my pa long ago the diff between screws. My pa also had a device for making screws (or fixing the thread on a screw) and I saw, at least once, how difficult making/fixing a thread on a screw is.

We have a jar with IKEA bits. I got myself Allen keys & a screwdriver, estimated screws and found the proper size after some fiddling. #Fixed properly.

What is N.m? #torque.

How much torque can I get from this inside-out two-stage planetary gearbox? Find out in Tuesday's YouTube video - it's part 1 of a new walking machine I can ride on!

By now everybody knows that I'm a PPE freak. ANSI Z87.1 EN388 cut level 5 are all parameters I know by heart.

You have to, when you work with torque wrenches, to fasten threaded rods, that can go all the way up to 3000 Newton Meters, you work with rotating and drilling machines then can go all the way up to 10000 RPM / DPS with just A relative Small Guard surrounding about half of the tool, ride trucks with multiple trailers, ride many different types of race machines, ...

In this video you will learn Basic and Advanced to steps for using grinders, in a PPE safe environment.

I myself avoid those small grinders that go to 12000 RPMs I would rather use a huge heavy duty grinder that goes just six and a half thousand RPM. Lower RPM means relative safety, of course that also means more torque per revolution

Even though it doesn't happen often, from time to time I ride with a cyclist who is dedicated to cycling with a passion.

This ride had taken us to a Riverside where a nice bank of mist was manifest. The screen cap of the cycling meter was somewhere in between the ride...

The photograph shot by an amateur, shows two passionate cyclists near a body of water, with a streetlight illuminating the scene. The person in the foreground is wearing a red motorcycle racing suit with "SONY MUSIC STUDIO" and "ANCOTOPROS" written on it, along with a red helmet and blue gloves, and is interacting with a Android phone taking a serene photograph of the other side. The second person, standing behind, is dressed in a dark blue cycling outfit with a green logo and a black cap, smiling and holding a phone. The background features a calm water surface reflecting the trees and sky, with a brick wall and steps leading down to the water. The sky is overcast, and the overall lighting suggests it is either early morning.

I've run a sweet training session a couple of days ago
It was on the time trial race machine, which makes it easy to run at these speeds. At this point in time the bike has a mountain steering setup which means it doesn't have the commandeurs and time trial handlebars, making the performance even more valuable.
