Psychosis affects 3 out of every 100 people in their lifetime and often starts between ages 16-35. It can cause individuals to lose touch with reality—hearing voices, seeing things, or holding strong false beliefs. Early signs are subtle and easy to miss but recognizing them can change lives.
𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗳𝗼𝗿:
- Hearing or seeing things others don’t
- Strong false beliefs (paranoia)
- Confused or disorganized speech
- Withdrawal from friends and family
- Changes in behavior or emotions
- Neglecting self-care
- Trouble at school or work
𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀:
The longer psychosis goes untreated, the harder recovery can be. Early treatment leads to better outcomes, faster recovery, and a more normal life.
