When discussing the #EnergyTransition people often simplify the general, all important, topic: DEPENDABLE energy systems. What’s the use of ‘clean’ energy if it shuts down every time.
Bearing in mind that it’s all about a transition [changing, evolving and improving] with a end goal still undetermined. Just abolishing one source and hallowing another is too easy [and it never is]. It will take a enormous effort, research [and money] to reach the end goal.
I don’t have to stress the urgency to reach the goal. ‘We’ [humanity] have been procrastinating the inevitable so long that the goal is the only solution against suffocation, is the transition to a clean source of the energy to drive ‘our’ civilization.
You may want to react with that the video is about Australia. Don’t ! ‘cause it is.
I share it only to suggest solutions on the integration. Like Flinders Island [Dutch ‘vlinders’ transl as butterflies].
In my mind ‘we’ should
* all make our own energy, depending only on the grid in an emergency.
* use every possibility of clean energy

1. Stop nieuwe olie- en gasprojecten
Onze eerste eis is dat ING stopt met geld steken in bedrijven die nog nieuwe olie- en gasprojecten starten. Op dit moment heeft ING namelijk nog meer dan 30 miljard(!) euro bij olie- en gasbedrijven uitstaan, waarvan de meeste nog nieuwe fossiele projecten starten. Maar de wetenschap is al jaren helder: we moeten én kunnen het meeste fossiel in de grond laten.
2. Halveer de uitstoot in 2030
Onze tweede eis is dat ING handelt volgens de afspraken in het Klimaatakkoord van Parijs, en zijn uitstoot dus minstens halveert in 2030 en daarna blijft verminderen, in lijn met de wetenschap. Want wij doen ons deel. We fietsen vaker, kopen minder, delen meer. Dan mag ING niet achterblijven. Door miljarden te steken in vervuilende projecten, en daardoor ieder jaar net zoveel uit te stoten als anderhalf keer heel Nederland bij elkáár, maakt de bank het probleem op dit moment alleen maar groter.
3. Geen geld naar mensenrechtenschendingen
Onze derde eis is dat ING stopt met het financieren van bedrijven die betrokken zijn bij mensenrechtenschendingen. Ons geld mag nooit bijdragen aan onderdrukking, vernietiging of onrecht. Toch financiert ING nog bedrijven als Caterpillar, dat bulldozers levert voor sloopwerk in Gaza, en Glencore, die eraan bijdraagt dat elk jaar 6.500 mensen in Indonesië vroegtijdig overlijden door kolencentrales.
Verbeter de wereld, begin bij je bankrekening: Niet met ons geld
Onze Klimaatzaak tegen ING zetten we natuurlijk gewoon voort in de rechtbank, maar jij kan nú iets doen.
Want: als ING over 1 jaar niet aan onze eisen voldoet, stappen we massaal over. Verbeter de wereld, begin bij je bankrekening!
Time’s up. Aan ING de keuze: Koers veranderen, of klanten verliezen?

1. Stop new oil and gas projects. Our first requirement is that ING stop investing money in companies that are still starting new oil and gas projects. ING currently still has more than 30 billion (!) euro at oil and gas companies, most of which are still starting new fossil projects. But science has been clear for years: we must and can leave the most fossil in the ground.
2. Halve emissions by 2030. Our second requirement is that ING act in accordance with the agreements in the Paris Climate Agreement, so that its emissions will at least halve in 2030 and continue to decrease thereafter, in line with science. Because we do our part. We cycle more often, buy less, share more. Then ING should not be left behind. By investing billions in polluting projects, and thereby emitting as much every year as one and a half times the whole of the Netherlands at each time, the bank is currently only making the problem worse.
3. No money for human rights violations. Our third requirement is that ING stop financing companies involved in human rights violations. Our money should never contribute to oppression, destruction or injustice.
