So, my mother in law wants to get me a Christmas present at around $150 or so and I need to tell her what to get. Today.

Thinking probably new tech for vintage systems kind of thing. Hoping for some suggestions.

What I have and don't need in that area: Apple IIgs and IIe have CFFA3000 (drive emu) and ethernet already. Amiga and ST have HxC (= GoTek) already and a rev1 Perceiro on the A1000. NeXTstation has a BlueSCSI already. Mac Plus has ethernet already (vis SCSI).

Maybe something more general? Hmm. Ideas?

Is there a version of Kickstarter for dumb stunts youd like to try? As a #Horticulture nerd and a #retrocomping enthusiast I think it'd be fun to try to run a MarketGarden exclusively using farm/garden management software for something like the #Tandy 1000. Act like im Farming on the bleeding edge of late 80s ag tech.

For those following for Tandy restoration purposes, the CF to IDE interface technically works in it with a 2gb card, but the BIOS doesn't support > 1024 cylinders. Setting lower cyl got fairly far treating it like a ~500mb drive, but DOS 5 badly misbehaved once installed. Based on research, I think it's getting confused with the bogus geometry (which is entirely reasonable...), so I've got a 128MB CF card on the way. For reference, the original hard drive was 80MB.

Briefly redeemed for color and a better shot, DOS jam effort on a Tandy 386sx/20 currently without a hard drive. Runs very reasonably off diskette. Very satisfying!

Med Systems published a catalog of four "adventure blobber" games from 1980 to 1982, made outside the regular arc of adventure game history.

Recently, I found a fifth game. It is not in any catalog or advertisement. It is a ghost from time that shouldn't exist.
