since a recent post reminded me of it, #Iwatched #FromDuskTillDawn again today. and I think that knowing what to expect, I enjoyed it a lot more than in 1996. #GeorgeClooney is impossibly cool, #Tarantino is hilariously creepy and #JulietteLewis is the secret star of the film. I still think the role of her brother was completely unnecessary. anyway, I had a blast.

#GreggAraki , découvert par chance au lycée, via des amis un peu punk, est un des meilleurs cinéastes de notre temps. Meilleur que #Tarantino, #GusVanSant ou #LarryClark, qui chacun dans leur genre ont décrit des errances post-adolescentes.

La seule raison pour laquelle il n'est pas plus connu est que l'homosexualité est au centre de ses films.
Et tant mieux quelque part. L'absence de gros moyens le protège des sales pattes du "bon goût".

Hier, donc j'ai vu #TotallyFuckedUp , un de ses premiers films : un télescopage d'images filmées au caméscope et à la pellicule, sans un seul temps mort. Des jeunes livrés à eux-mêmes, qui font les seules choses rationnelles dans un monde qui court à sa perte.
Et puis il y a James Duval, notre temoin naïf et légèrement dépressif de cette lente chute, dont Gregg Araki ne semble pas se lasser de sonder les émotions.
La trilogie "Teenage Apocalypse" ressort dans quelques cinémas à Paris ces jours-ci, alors allez-y vite !
