The state of Illinois saw a fight between police and teachers recently, and the teachers won. Resource officers were issuing fines for things like talking out in class, and when students didn't have jobs to pay the fines those students were hauled into adult court. When the leguslature put on the kid gpoves and tried to prohibit the practice with some light guard rails the police escalated. Now the state legislature has stepped in again, this time with tougher rules against police misconduct.

A high school performance of well-known play The Crucible went awry in Georgia. The subject matter, of course, has to do with spiritual corruption in a New England town. A parent in the audience was offended that the school allowed students to portray "witches" (the whole point of the play is that they're actually not). What was a principal to do? Claim the students had modified the play in violation of copyright, obviously.

A seventh grade boy found a screenshot of someone claiming to be arranging a school shooting. When he did the right thing and forwarded the post to school officials they decided they had a chance to grandstand. Law enforcement quickly figured out he was innocent of anything and let him go, but the school wanted to show off for the public, so they doubled down. The school's bureaucrats violated their state's anti-zero-tolerance law by expelling him without even talking to his parents. Of course, the usual administrator antics ensue.
