Aktuell wird er bei #IONOS gehostet.

I wanted to try #TeamSpeak, but the app was crashing. I fixed it over 3 days and the problem was just bad code in TS 🤦

I use #Pipewire for my audio, and I have custom sinks (virtual input/output devices). These sinks can have a desceiptor in your pipewire.conf faled called devices.properties which basically is just a description of what the device is called for PulseAudio for the Pipewire-Pulse compatibility

Since at least TS5's beta, TS will completely crash if that device.properties section is missing, despite me having these sinks for LITERAL YEARS without a problem in any other application (Discord, OBS, a multitude of online games, Firefox, Chrome, etc.)

Da sich #TeamSpeak aktuell ziemlich dumm stellt, muss ich ein Hoster-Wechsel vornehmen und den ganzen Server neu erstellen.
(Server-ID ist auf der Blacklist)

Könnte also eine Weile dauern, bis das alles wieder sauber läuft.

Leute bei #TeamSpeak finden es scheinbar gut, einfach mal so TS-Server zu Blacklisten, weil beim Hoster (Hetzner) auf einem anderen Server gecrackte Lizenzen vertreibt.
Jetzt ist mein #TS erst mal unerreichbar.

#Discord is feels like a really strange platform nowadays.

I remember back during its inception, conversations were much more active and long-form. Perhaps because people initially used it amongst close friend groups - coming from #Skype and #TeamSpeak . But Discord's whole environment has really changed over the years.

I somehow have access to tons of individuals, yet I think I get faster replies via Email at this point lol.

#Skype was survived by #Ventrilo and #TeamSpeak.

Ходила версия про контракт с АНБ . Всё равно везде под Windows использовался Skype, так что покупка казалась логичной. Но вышло не очень…

@emma@shrimp.emmabyte.de @forse@kolektiva.social @xgranade@wandering.shop #TeamSpeak is proprietary, so I wouldn't consider that a viable alternative. #Revolt is free software and self-hostable, but last time I checked the setup you get by following their documentation does not include working voice. I hope they will fix this in the near future.

#Mumble has served me and my friends since before #Discord was made, and is likely to outlive it, just as it has outlived many other voice chats before it. It also comes with far superior mic and sound controls, to better filter out background noise. I've not seen any web-based voice chat service handle this well, if at all.

Weniger #Discord, mehr #Revolt wagen.

(ja, ich weiß, dass es auch ganz tolle andere Software gibt, aber einige finden sich dort nicht ganz so gut zurecht)

#discord IS LITERALLY THE PROBLEM!

• It's worse than any #IRC, #Mumble or even the old #TeamSpeak & #Skype for that matter.

• It combines the disadvantages of #Forum, #paywalled #documentation, #chat and #voicechat with 0 redeeming qualities (unlike #Zulip & Mumble & #XMPP+#OMEMO) it's just an #InformationBlackhole!

I'm shure fecking #dread has better moderation and I'd rather use #MicrosoftTeams + #Slack cuz those at least have proper #moderation tools.

• And I'd rather subscribe to the #LKML and see my inbox getting hosed than using any shitty #SaaS!

Case in point: I'd rather #SelfHost all my comms infrastructure than to ever use something like Discord or any other #GDPR-violating SaaS that is just enshittification.

I'd rather recommend people to instead choose a tool that does everything but horrible to go with multiple smaller & good tools

Если вам надоело обходить блокировку Discord и вас не устраивает связь в tg или Steam, то предлагаю поднять свой TeamSpeak(TS) сервер. У меня, например, вылезла проблема: CoD отказывается запускаться при включенной службе обхода дискорда . Тем более, что последнее обновление сделало TS неплохим его аналогом. И так, нам понадобится домашний сервер (например, старый комп) с установленной ОС или же арендованный VPS. Ваш IP должен быть статическим , иначе придётся в конфигурации роутера каждый раз менять внешний IP. Я расскажу как поставить TS, которым смогут пользоваться и ваши друзья на Ubuntu-server через терминал.
