Several prominent Israeli academics have advocated for extreme measures against Palestinians in #Gaza since October 2023. Uzy Raby, a history professor at Tel Aviv University, called for "a process of starvation or a process of extermination" for those who don't evacuate northern Gaza, arguing that conflict in the Middle East requires a special "Middle Eastern spice." Harel Chorev supported forcibly displacing civilians from northern Gaza, while Eyal Zisser urged to "occupy Gaza now." Benny Morris controversially suggested dropping a nuclear bomb on Iran. These scholars often justify their positions by claiming, as Avi Bareli put it, that Palestinians are "a society that worships death," or by echoing Eliahu Yusian's view that there are "no innocent civilians" in Gaza. Critics argue these academics are promoting far-right ideologies and potential war crimes while marginalizing dissenting voices in Israeli academia.

Gaza Genocide: 362 Students & Faculty of NALSAR University Write to Admin to Cut Ties with Israeli Universities

A total of 362 signatories, including 275 students, 70 Alumni and 12 Faculty Members of the National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR) University of Law, Hyderabad have written to the university administration asking it to cut existing ties with two Israeli universities - Tel Aviv University and the Radzyner School of Law - as part of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement, to condemn Israel's attack on Palestine.
