Scammers called 1,800 victims pretending to be the “FCC fraud prevention team.” This seems to have been enough to awaken the sleeping government giant and kick it into action. It proposes to fine the VoIP company alleged to be responsible for enabling the scammers, Telnyx LLC.

But the #FCC only acted after scammers tried to scam its own staff. @tramtrist yes, that's the tricky part 🙂 I've also tried #telnyx with #linphone for example and that works... but Telnyx does not offer Swiss mobile numbers, and I'm struggling finding a provider which does.

@aaisp I’d love to test this! I came across your SIP2SIM service years ago, but was put off by the per minute costs. I’ve been searching for something similar ever since.

#Telnyx teased that they were working on something like this almost a year ago now, but nothing seems to have come from that, so far.

Was just asked by a https://telnyx.com support engineer, followed by a person-to-person email exchange with a service manager, why we couldn't just share accounts since they hadn't provided proper permissions yet to access ACH transactions for anyone other than the Owner. #security #telephony #telnyx
