La mandataria Claudia Sheinbaum confirmó que el presidente de Francia, Emmanuel Macron, visitará México el 7 de noviembre. La visita busca principalmente dialogar sobre la repatriación de antiguos códices mexicanos, esenciales para la cultura nacional.
Durante su tradicional conferencia de prensa desde Palacio Nacional, Sheinbaum explicó que Macron traerá empresarios para encuentros con representantes mexicanos. Sin embargo, el principal objetivo será la recuperación de los códices, cuya importancia histórica y cultural es prioritaria para México.
La visita estaba prevista en septiembre, pero se pospuso debido a problemas de último momento en Francia, informó la mandataria. El nuevo calendario permitirá que ambos gobiernos ajusten la agenda oficial y los encuentros de trabajo.
Códice de Borgia
El asesor político José Alfonso Suárez del Real, de la Coordinación General de Comunicación Social, explicó que se busca recuperar el Códice Borgia, un documento que plasma aspectos esenciales de la historia mexicana. Se resaltó la relevancia del códice para comprender la cultura y la sociedad de Tenochtitlán.
Suárez del Real precisó que aunque existen reproducciones, carecen del espíritu del documento original. El códice será relevante para actividades planificadas en 2027, y los pueblos náhuatl consideran esencial su recuperación para la preservación cultural.
El códice contiene narrativas políticas, sociales y religiosas que consolidaron la organización de los barrios originarios en México. Historiadores lo consideran una pieza clave para comprender la estructura social y política de Tenochtitlán y sus valores.
Importancia histórica
Se enfatizó que estos códices son la memoria escrita de los pueblos que los crearon y solo con el documento original se puede experimentar plenamente su conocimiento. El Códice de Borgia sigue vigente como referente histórico y cultural para México.
La repatriación permitirá fortalecer la investigación académica y las actividades culturales relacionadas con los códices prehispánicos. Las instituciones nacionales y extranjeras coordinan esfuerzos para asegurar la restitución segura del material histórico.
La visita de Macron y las gestiones de la presidencia mexicana reafirman la cooperación internacional en materia cultural y la importancia de los documentos históricos para la memoria de los pueblos. –sn–
