Thanet: Do you love it or loath it?

Do you love Thanet or have nothing good to say about the area? I’d like to publish the opinions of my fellow Thanet inhabitants, and that includes you.

I’m happy for you to just reply here, but if you really want to have a complete say, there’s a form for that. You can comment anonymously or not. I’ve also left space for you to tell readers about yourself and have a link to something (ideally something local) you’d like people to see.

On the form, you will get the chance to give Thanet a star rating (out of five). As the results drift in, I’ll keep you updated on how everyone rates our home district.

St Mary the Virgin is a very old church in Minster in #Thanet, #Kent.
The chancel is typically 'Early English' in architecture and style, and the beautiful nave has remained in its present form since 1150.

St Mary's #Church - traditionally called the 'Cathedral of the Marshes' - boasts a set of eighteen superbly preserved #Misericords (Quire Stalls).

Historic England: "Dreamland #Cinema in Margate, completed in 1935, is an exceptional early example of the influence of German cinema design in England, showcasing multiple architectural styles. The building's tower is particularly effective and helped influence the design of future Odeon cinemas."

Closed in 2007, but used as a set for Sam Mendes "Empire of Light" - a terrific film.

And Arlington House is fog bound behind it.

Not much point in looking out to sea last week as you couldn't see anything. The famous brutalist Arlington House - designed by Russell Diplock and built in 1963 - is the background.. Every flat has a sea view.

Topical references to NHS dentists, freebie clothing, Oasis, cost of living, explosive ships & rockets, Rwandagate, Wonkagate, Aurora Borealis, rural housing, dogging, army horses, and more… #HoodenHorse
