I saw "Deliver me from nowhere" last night at the local cinema. I was skeptical if the filmmakers could pull off portraying #TheBoss #BruceSpringsteen in a decent way but in the very first minute of the movie, I was pleasantly surprised.
#JeremyAllenWhite is phenomenal in his overall performance and captures the concert performances perfectly. Actually, I really enjoyed the entire cast.
What surprised me about the movie is how dark it is and emotional. I had no idea Bruce suffered from severe depression in his early days, and we are talking life threatening level #depression. The storytelling is very much focused on him and his immediate family and friends and not so much on his bandmates, touring or the atmosphere of the 80's when the film takes place. This makes sense to me and helps the audience really connect (so to speak) to Bruce the, person rather that the rock star.
I really enjoyed the overall movie. It has some great music (obviously) and most importantly, gave me an interesting insight into Bruce's personal life during the period, when he was writing and recording the #Alaska album.
