一则关于孤独的故事。
两个社会边缘青少年，在被社会抛弃之后，主动选择了抛弃社会。在黑色喜剧一样的经历之后，祂们在彼此身上找到了社会欠缺祂们许久的东西——陪伴。
能明显注意到，在第一季，随着故事进展，James言不由衷（言语表达和内心独白不一致）的情况越来越少；而第二季，Alyssa开始变得言不由衷起来。她看上去比第一季的时候更贴近一个「好人」的定义——关心他人、遵守社会规范、保持礼节，但她的内心是愈发崩塌的。虽然表面上是James承担了罪名（并且无罪释放），但一直被困在那场事件的创伤中的人是Alyssa。与此同时，第二季引入的新角色Bonnie则展示了Alyssa可能的归途——如果她不曾遇见James，那很可能就是她的人生末路。
