I really love the Muppets and right now I am in the middle of watching a series called 'The Muppets Mayhem', about the music group Dr. Teeth & the Electric Mayhem, and they explain the origin of Animal. There was a knock on the door of the house the band lived in and Floyd Pepper answered it on their front stoop someone had left baby Animal.
