The Psychedelic Furs released their self titled debut album on this day in 1980.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝘀𝘆𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗙𝘂𝗿𝘀 - 𝟭𝟵𝟴𝟬 (𝘗𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘗𝘶𝘯𝘬)
Il y a 45 ans sortait le premier album, solide et convaincant, des 𝗣𝘀𝘆𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗙𝘂𝗿𝘀, menés par les frères 𝗕𝘂𝘁𝗹𝗲𝗿. Dès ses débuts, le groupe impose son style: la voix rauque et hargneuse de 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗕𝘂𝘁𝗹𝗲𝗿, le saxophone omniprésent et une guitare abrasive qui donnent à leur musique une identité unique.
L’album s’ouvre avec 𝙄𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙖, un titre qui installe immédiatement l’ambiance avec une introduction lente et hypnotique avant de monter en intensité. 𝙎𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙀𝙪𝙧𝙤𝙥𝙚, quant à lui, est un morceau sombre et atmosphérique d’une beauté fascinante. 𝙄𝙢𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙊𝙛 𝘾𝙝𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙩 démarre avec une intro de saxophone accrocheuse, tandis que 𝙁𝙖𝙡𝙡 et son rythme entêtant nous emmènent vers 𝙋𝙪𝙡𝙨𝙚, l’un des morceaux les plus résolument punk de l’album. 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙒𝙚𝙙𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙎𝙤𝙣𝙜, l’un de mes titres préférés, dégage une ambiance qui rappelle 𝗝𝗼𝘆 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻.
Un disque que j'apprécie et qui mérite d’être redécouvert.
